Portable quality control instrument for Modified Atmosphere Packages (MAP)


The CheckPoint II is a portable headspace analyser that gives operators and QC managers easy access to important information about the gas composition in modified atmosphere packages. In brief the CheckPoint II has data logging capabilities, the possibility to transfer data to a PC and an optional bar code scanner. Like its ‘big brother’ the CheckMate II, the CheckPoint II has a built-in intelligence to alert the operator to any quality problems with the gas content of the package. The CheckPoint II is ideal for small to medium volume production facilities or other situations where a portable analyser is useful.

Can Piercer

The PBI-Dansensor Can Piercer is an option for our CheckMate II headspace analyser. The Can Piercer can, among others, be used for measuring headspace in the following packaging types:

• Milk powder cans
• Soft drink cans
• Wine bottles
• Ready to drink containers
• PET bottles
  

The CheckMate II only requires a very small amount of headspace to ensure a reliable result. The CheckMate II with can piercer is therefore a perfect tool for measuring in bottles etc. with a small headspace.

This table top LeakPointer is the smallest of the PBI-Dansensor range of On- and Off-line CO2 leak testers for modified atmosphere (MA) packed products where CO2 is a part of the gas composition used.
The LeakPointer will fast and easily detect your micro leaks in MA packages containing CO2.

This high capacity off-line micro leak detector can test shipping crates up to the standard E2 size. The LeakPointer E2 has 500 programmes for preset test parameters and data logging. It has a RS 232 serial port for data export and an optional built-in printer. Furthermore a barcode reader is available for fast selection of test programme.

As an option the LeakPointers can be delivered with the PC software LeakStat, which can be used for real-time logging of the tests as well as comparing test results for various time periods, product lines or products.

PBI-Dansensor has developed a compact on-line micro leak system, which gives the possibility of detecting packages in complete shipping cartons.

By using the CO2, already being available in the MAP packages, as trace gas it is possible to test all packages shortly after they have left the packaging machine.

This test method is of course non-destructive and furthermore it is possible to test 4-6 shipping cartons pr. minute.

Leakmatic Data Sheet

A series of proportional mixers for blending 2 or 3 gases, flow rate max. 150, 300, 450 or 600 litre/min (315, 630, 945 or 1260 SCFH). MAP Mix is available for blending many different gases within the food industry, hardening ovens etc.

The MAP Check Combi II can be fitted onto most vertical and horizontal flow packgaging machines. The analyser can be fully integrated with the packaging machine, thereby ensuring that the packaging process is stopped if the required gas content is not present in the packages. In the PFC (proportional flow control) version of the MAP Check Combi II, gas savings of up to 25% are possible.

The MAP Check Combi series secures the quality in Modified Atmosphere Packaging through on-line measuring and recording of the gas content in the package before sealing.

MAP Check Combi is tested to be in compliance with EU regulation 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

TGC - Total Gas Control

The complete modified atmosphere solution for flow packaging machines - gas analyser, gas mixer and flow control in an all-in-one concept. The TGC-2 analyses the gas on-line and (optionally) mixes the gases.

TGC-2 also regulates the gas flow proportionally, which means that only the gas flow necessary to maintain the user defined O2 level is used. This is happening independently of changes in the packaging speed etc.
TGC-2 also features built-in random test device for head space analysis.

• All settings - gas alarms, gas mixture and flow regulations - are easily selected by the operator. There are 99 programs.

TGC Data Sheet

On-line gas analyser for O2 or O2/CO2 combined, precise and non-destructive monitoring

Analyser designed for use with thermoforming and tray sealing machines equipped for modified atmosphere packaging. The analyser works by measuring the gas content non-destructively before sealing the packages. Can be fully integrated with the MAP Mix 8000 EL electronic gas mixer. Package oxygen permeability testing

Oxygen permeability testing of finished packages, done in a completely new way. The PermMate is a highly versatile system for oxygen permeability testing of complete packages and bottles. A wide variety of industries, especially the food and beverage industry, can benefit from the test results for better shelf life prediction and thereby choose the right packaging solution in terms of the oxygen barrier for a specific product. The advantages of the PermMate

The PermMate is based on an innovative concept meaning that it is able to test an almost unlimited number of packages more or less simultaneously. The normal limitations of comparable products are 1-8 packages.

The PermMate is controlled via an intuitive software package, which makes it easy to perform the permeability test. An important feature of the PermMate is the ability to determine the volume of the packages to be tested. The PermMate directly determines the oxygen permeability of the package.
